James 1:12
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

I think that most of us would agree that the world we live in is swimming with problems. Every day will have its tough moments, some will seem big and some will seem small. We constantly anticipate our trials which causes us to go through them multiple times when God means for us to go through them only once. These trials are like waves in the future, but if we cling to God through each one, we will see them as just another portion of His perfect design for our lives. Gods desire for us is that we cling to Him through the good and the bad. Circumstances will constantly change, but the God we serve should always be glorified. If we truly recognize that we are living to bring Him praise, we are saying that our lives are not about us. If our lives are not about us, we can maintain the perspective that when trials come our way, we can honor God through them. This may not make the situation itself better, but knowing this should change our attitudes. God wants to bless us as we go through these trials, and those who love Him will receive the crown of life, the greatest blessing of all.

Dear Lord,
I ask that you would change my heart so that I will praise you the same through the good and the bad. You are with me now and always, and I praise you for the work you are constantly doing in my life.    Amen
